PointClear CEO "Principal for a Day" at Buice School

Dan McDade Participates in Innovative Program

ATLANTA (December 13, 2010) – PointClear President and CEO Dan McDade served as Principal for a Day at Buice School on Nov. 15, 2010. McDade participated in the program, a joint initiative between the Gwinnett Country Board of Education and the Gwinnett Chamber for CEO-level business leaders, to gain a firsthand, authentic look at the operation of today’s schools and the principals who lead them.

“I had the unique opportunity to observe up close and personal the rewards, challenges, and satisfaction that come with being the leader of a modern public school,” McDade said in recounting his experience shadowing Buice School Principal Kim Holland. “The teachers and administrators there are exceptional. I have renewed respect for the dedication and energy it takes to be an educator.”

A public school located in Sugar Hill, Buice is one of two Gwinnett County schools serving preschool and pre-K students. Approximately 180 students, many with special needs, attend Buice.

A prospect development firm located in Norcross, PointClear provides lead generation, nurturing and sales support services to business-to-business companies in technology, healthcare and business services industries. McDade founded the company in 1997. He also serves as chairman of the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) Education Collaborative (www.tagedonline.org), an organization promoting STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education in Georgia.

“My role with TAG Education Collaborative drew me to this program,” McDade said. “The opportunity for hands-on experience in a school was valuable, and I look forward to applying what I learned to further the goals of the organization.”
