PointClear President Dan McDade Named Chairman of TAG Education Collaborative

Prospect Development Firm Continues to Support Region’s Technology Community;

Hosts TechAmerica Georgia Bash in the Burbs Jan. 28, 2010

ATLANTA (Jan. 13, 2010) – PointClear, a prospect development firm based in Norcross, Ga., continues its commitment to support the region’s technology community through leadership, sponsorship and other activity. As part of this, the firm’s president, Dan McDade, has been named chairman of the TAG Education Collaborative. The board of directors elected McDade at its Dec. 16, 2009, board meeting for a one-year term that began Jan. 1, 2010. McDade will lead the 16-member board in its efforts to strengthen Georgia’s future workforce by uniting Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) resources with leading science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education initiatives benefitting middle- and high-school students statewide.

Formerly known as the TAG Foundation, the TAG Education Collaborative’s initiatives include an internship program, the WebChallenge competition for high-school students, and the Vine Event, a fundraiser launched in 2009 which raised more than $30,000 in its inaugural year to support STEM education.

“We are pleased that Dan has accepted the challenge to chair this important organization, and we welcome his leadership,” said John Hurlbut, executive director of the TAG Education Collaborative. “We have been fortunate to benefit from the talents of leading Georgia technology executives since our inception.”

McDade served as a board member and co-chair of the Vine Event committee in 2009. He succeeds 2009 Chair Kent Antley of Miller & Martin, PLLC. Nancy Treaster, general manager, Witness Actionable Solutions, Verint Systems, Inc., was elected 2010 vice chair.

PointClear is further supporting the technology community through its involvement with TechAmerica Georgia, which serves the high-tech business interests of companies headquartered in Georgia by providing access to opportunities for networking, business development, education and advocacy. McDade serves as a member of the TechAmerica Georgia Committee, formerly the American Electronics Association (AeA).

PointClear is sponsoring TechAmerica’s upcoming Bash in the Burbs on Jan. 28, 2010. The event will be held at PointClear’s offices at 680 Engineering Drive, Suite 120 in Norcross from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. More than 100 technology companies were represented at last year’s winter Bash in the Burbs, also held at PointClear.
