| ATLANTA, GA
– August 1, 2005 – Through a series of seasonal
campaigns to raise donations, PointClear has continued its support
of Gwinnett’s
Partnership Against Domestic Violence program for a second year.
The company has contributed to this charity as part of its corporate
program to support local non-profit organizations.
PointClear has collected donations for school supplies, filling
30 backpacks for the children in the program before the school year
started. Employees have also contributed Christmas gifts to fulfill
children’s wish lists.
Earlier this year, PointClear held “Pi Day” on March
14th, where employees brought in pies for a tasting contest and
silent auction. All of the proceeds went to the purchase of candy
and toys to go in Easter baskets for children of the PADV program.
“The holidays which represent love and family togetherness
are tough for the women and their children in our shelters,”
said Cathy Willis Spraetz, CEO of Partnership Against Domestic Violence.
“PointClear helps bring a little cheer and joy to them with
their holiday gifts and year-round donations. The backpacks are
also always a welcomed donation, providing the children with an
essential item for school and recreation.”
PointClear’s involvement with PADV is part of a company-wide
program that allows employees to suggest and decide on nonprofit
organizations to support on a quarterly basis. This program, led
by a group of PointClear employees and management, has become a
key part of the company’s culture and contributes to employees’
job satisfaction.
“By letting our employees have a voice in which nonprofit
organizations we contribute to, PointClear is able to give to many
different charitable organizations in our community that are important
to us,” said Dan McDade, president and CEO of PointClear.
“We are proud to continue to support the Partnership Against
Domestic Violence and its worthwhile mission to improve the lives
of people in need.”
